Intermittent claudication is a fairly common condition. It
causes leg pain that develops with exercise and disappears after
resting. This cramping or severe fatigue results from an inadequate
arterial blood flow to the leg muscles.
Ginkgo biloba extract (GBE) has been shown to be useful in
treating this problem. Five placebo-controlled clinical trials showed
significant improvement in the pain-free walking ability of patients
after 3 to 6 months of treatment with 120 mg of GBE per day.
